The Financial Dashboard
The Financial Dashboard is the one-screen answer to "how are we doing, and who owes us money". It brings revenue, receivables and payables together, and ends with a list of invoices worth chasing today.
Applies to: the Professional plan, with the erp:finance:reports:view permission. On a lower plan the page loads and offers an upgrade instead of the figures.
Prerequisites: Creating Invoices and Managing Bills. The dashboard reads your invoices, payments and bills, so an empty ledger shows an empty dashboard.
Open the dashboard
Go to Reports > Financial Dashboard.
Two controls sit in the page header. Refresh reloads the figures without reloading the browser. Change Report jumps straight to any other report or dashboard.
The six figures across the top
GST is the goods and services tax you charge on sales. AR is money customers owe you; payables are bills you owe suppliers.
- Revenue (YTD) — invoiced revenue for the year to date
- Outstanding AR — everything customers still owe
- Overdue AR — the past-due share of that, with the number of overdue invoices in the label
- Payables Outstanding — bills you still owe
- Collected (MTD) — payments actually received this month
- GST Collected (MTD) — GST on this month's sales
Revenue and collections are different numbers, and the gap between them is the point. Invoiced money is promised; collected money is in the bank.
Revenue Trend
Twelve months of bars, two per month: Invoiced against Collected. A collected bar that trails its invoiced bar month after month means work is going out faster than payment is coming in.
Invoice Status
A doughnut splitting outstanding invoice value by status. Drafts and voided invoices are left out, so what you see is real money in play.
Aged Receivables and Aged Payables
Two bar charts using the same five buckets — current, 1–30 days, 31–60, 61–90, and 90 or more. Receivable bars shade from green through to red as they age. Anything in the last two buckets needs a phone call rather than another emailed reminder.
For the customer-by-customer breakdown behind these charts, open Reports > Aged Receivables or Reports > Aged Payables.
Outstanding Invoices
The list at the bottom is the part you act on. It shows the invoice number, customer, due date, status and amount due, oldest due date first, with the days overdue beside the date. When everything is paid, it says so.
What you should see
A business with invoicing history shows six populated figures, a twelve-month revenue chart, and either a chase list or the message that everything is paid up. Empty cards mean there is no data yet in that area, not a broken page.
