Tier 3 — Quoting & Jobs

Job Templates

AxiomBlue has no Job Templates screen. To stop rebuilding the same job from scratch, you duplicate an existing job or turn one into a recurring series. This article covers both, and clears up the three unrelated things called "templates" in the product.

There is no job template library. Earlier versions of this article described a Create Template screen with standard tasks and materials. No such screen exists in the portal or the mobile app. Use the two methods below instead.

Applies to: all plans. Duplicating a job needs erp:operations:jobs:create. Setting a job to recur needs erp:operations:job-series:view to see the option and erp:operations:job-series:create to save it. No feature flag gates either.

Prerequisites: one job set up the way you want to repeat it. See Creating Jobs Directly.

Duplicate a job

Duplicating is the fastest way to repeat a one-off. Build the job once, get it right, and copy it whenever the same work comes round.

  1. Open the job you want to copy under Jobs & Crews > All Jobs.
  2. Open the Options menu in the job header.
  3. Select Duplicate Job.

AxiomBlue creates the copy and opens it straight away, so the page you land on is the new job, not the original. Change the customer, the dates and the site address, then save.

Turn a job into a recurring series

For work that repeats on a schedule — quarterly servicing, a monthly maintenance visit — a job series is the better tool. The series holds one job as its pattern and generates the rest.

  1. Open the job you want to repeat.
  2. Find Recurring Options in the Job Details card and select Set Recurring.
  3. Fill in the Details step — Series Name and Customer are both required.
  4. Open the Job Template step. The job you started from is already chosen as the Template Job, and its values have pre-filled the rest.
  5. Adjust the defaults every generated job inherits — Priority, Est. Duration (minutes), Est. Cost ($), Site Address and Notes.
  6. Work through Allocations, Schedule and Generation, then save.

The Recurring Options row then reads Recurs every… and offers Modify and View Series. Full detail is in Recurring Jobs (Job Series).

Three different things called templates

The word is overloaded in AxiomBlue. None of these three is a job template:

  • Quote Templates — saved quote line items you reuse when pricing work. Covered in Quote Templates. Converting the resulting quote to a job carries the lines across.
  • PDF Templates — the layout and branding of the documents you send. Its own item at Settings > PDF Templates.
  • Email Templates — the wording of automated emails, at Settings > Email Templates. Covered in Email Templates.

What you should see

After duplicating, the browser sits on a new job carrying a new job number and the original's details. After setting a job to recur, the Recurring Options row names the frequency and links to the series.
