Bank Accounts
The Banking page holds the bank accounts your business pays from and receives into. Set them up once, and they become selectable wherever AxiomBlue records a payment.
Applies to: the page needs the View Banking permission (erp:finance:banking:view). Add Account needs erp:finance:banking:create, Edit needs erp:finance:banking:edit, and Remove needs erp:finance:banking:delete.
Open the Banking page
Banking has no entry of its own in the sidebar. Reach it from either finance page instead. Go to Banking & Expenses > Accounts Receivable or Banking & Expenses > Accounts Payable, open the Options menu at the top of the page, then choose Bank Accounts.
Two figures sit across the top: Total Cash, which adds up every account balance, and Bank Accounts, the number of accounts on the list.
Read the list
Each row carries seven columns.
- Account — the account code, with the account name beneath it.
- Bank — the institution.
- BSB and Account # — the account's identifying numbers.
- Balance — the current balance AxiomBlue holds for the account.
- Source — Manual for an account you created, or the name of the connector that supplied it.
- Xero — Linked or Not linked, depending on whether the account is mapped to a Xero account.
Add a bank account
Select Add Account.
- Account Name — required. Name it the way your team refers to it, such as
Business Cheque Account. - Bank Name — required, for example
Commonwealth Bank. - BSB — six digits. AxiomBlue inserts the dash for you, giving
123-456. - Account Number.
- Select Add Account.
What you should see
The new account joins the list with a zero balance, a Source of Manual, and a Xero value of Not linked. It becomes available in the bank account field when you record a payment against an invoice or a bill.
Edit an account
Select a row, or choose Edit from its row menu. The form carries the same four fields.
Editing a synced account rarely sticks. When an account came from a connected system, the form warns you that the next sync may overwrite your changes. Make the correction in the connected system instead.
Remove an account
Choose Remove from the row menu and confirm. What happens next depends on the account's history.
- An account with no transactions or payments against it is deleted permanently.
- An account carrying history is archived instead. It disappears from this list, and its history stays intact.
The confirmation message tells you which of the two happened. Connector-sourced accounts have no Remove action, because the connected system would recreate them on the next sync.
What this page does not do
Banking in AxiomBlue is an account register, not a transaction feed. The portal has no screen for importing a bank statement, browsing individual bank transactions, or writing rules that categorise them automatically. Balances come from the payments you record against invoices and bills, and from any connected accounting software.
