Put your jobs in your calendar
Put the jobs you're assigned to in your own calendar, so your phone shows the day's work next to everything else. Connect Google or Outlook and changes arrive within about a minute, or use a subscribe link with any calendar app.
Applies to: every plan and every user, for their own jobs in the business they have selected. Your calendar shows the jobs you are assigned to, or your crew is assigned to, from a fortnight ago to six months ahead. Cancelled jobs are left out.
Prerequisites: a Google or Microsoft account for the first method, or any calendar app for the second. See My account for the page these settings are on.
Choose what each job shows
A calendar can show on your phone's lock screen and to anyone you share it with, so you choose how much each job carries. Each connection and the subscribe link has its own setting, What each job shows:
- Job number only: the job number and suburb.
- Job title (recommended): the job title, suburb, job number and status. No customer details.
- Title, customer and address: adds the customer's name, the full site address and the job description.
- Everything, including contact details: also adds the customer's phone number and email.
Every event links back to the job in AxiomBlue.
Connect Google or Outlook
Go to Settings > Personal Settings and select the Calendar tab.
- Under Connect your calendar, select Connect beside Google Calendar or Outlook / Microsoft 365.
- Sign in to that account and allow AxiomBlue to manage its events. You return to the Calendar tab.
- Choose What each job shows.
Your jobs appear in the calendar within a minute or two. From then on, a job that is booked, moved, reassigned or cancelled is added, moved or removed in your calendar within about a minute.
- Sync now checks every job against the calendar again.
- Pause stops new changes going through and leaves what is already there. Resume catches up.
- Disconnect removes AxiomBlue's jobs from the calendar and stops syncing. Nothing else in your calendar is touched.
If you delete one of the job events in your calendar while the job is still yours, it comes back. Change the job in AxiomBlue instead.
Or subscribe with a link
This works with any calendar app, including Apple Calendar, and needs no account to be connected.
- Under Or subscribe with a link, choose What each job shows and select Create subscribe link.
- Select Add to Google Calendar, Add to Outlook or Open in Apple Calendar, or select Copy and paste the link into your calendar app's "subscribe" or "add from URL" option.
The link is shown only once. Anyone who has it can see your jobs, so keep it to yourself. Make a new link replaces it and the old one stops working straight away; Turn off ends it. It also stops working if you leave the business.
Tip: your calendar app decides how often it reads a subscribe link. Apple Calendar can check every few minutes; Google Calendar only every few hours. For changes within a minute, connect the account instead.
What you should see
A connected calendar shows Syncing · last update with the time it last changed something. A subscribe link shows when it was made and when a calendar last fetched it. Your jobs appear in the calendar at their booked times.
If jobs stop appearing
If the connection reads Stopped: connect it again to keep your jobs in it, the calendar account withdrew AxiomBlue's access (for example after a password change or removing the app's permission). Select Reconnect. You also get a notification when this happens. If Google Calendar or Outlook / Microsoft 365 reads Not available yet, use the subscribe link.
